Dr. Brown grew up in southeastern Wisconsin. He has a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and was honored by being selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He did a general surgery internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals followed by a corneal physiology research fellowship with Dr. Henry Edelhauser at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His ophthalmology residency was at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. During his chief year of residency he did a cornea and external disease preceptorship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. For the past 35 years, Dr. Brown has been engaged in the practice of clinical ophthalmology and owned his solo ophthalmology practice for the last 31 years. Dr Brown mentored family practice residents for a number of years and held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Practice through the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has concentrated on medical ophthalmology for the past four years. Dr. Brown is a lifetime Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Brown is married and has two daughters. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and will soon be taking up fly fishing.
